About SLHDA

Skye and Lochalsh Horticultural Development Association is a membership organisation comprising local growers, market gardeners, crofters, garden centres and plant nurseries, professional and amateur gardeners and the local horticultural businesses in general.

The group works together to promote local production of fresh fruit and vegetables, garden plants, trees etc.

Since its establishment in 1994 the Association has promoted production of quality fresh fruit and vegetables in the area of Skye and the near mainland of Lochalsh and this high quality produce is now readily available in local hotels, restaurants, village shops and through local box schemes.

The SLHDA aims to promote the use of local produce and products and to replace 'imported' products and skills. The development of this product and skill base is important in sustaining a vibrant and economically viable local community.
